  • FROM VISION TO REALITY: STORY BEHIND LOWTOWN STUDIOS

A cinematic dream was about to become a reality in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. In the spring of 2019, the founders of Lowtown Studios embarked on a mission to create a cutting-edge film and photography studio that would set a new standard in the industry. To turn this vision into a tangible masterpiece, they turned to Chris Rodriguez, the founder of Panther City Films. With a wealth of experience in soundstage productions, Chris was the perfect choice to design and bring to life Lowtown Studios.

Drawing upon his extensive background in film production, Chris set out to design a boutique film studio that would not only meet the needs of ad agencies, filmmakers, photographers, and storytellers but also stand the test of time. The result is nothing short of spectacular — a multifaceted facility featuring five distinct stages, each tailored to cater to the diverse demands of the creative world.

  1. Full Shooting Kitchen: Lowtown Studios boasts a 24′ x 32′ fully equipped shooting kitchen, perfect for culinary shoots and food photography. From cooking shows to product commercials, this space was meticulously designed to cater to the unique requirements of the food industry.

  1. Versatile Swanky Lounge: For those seeking an upscale and chic backdrop for their projects, the 25′ x 17′ swanky lounge is an ideal choice. It’s a space that radiates sophistication and luxury, perfect for fashion shoots, upscale events, or any project requiring a touch of elegance.

  1. Garage Stage: The massive 80′ x 110′ garage stage provides a rugged and industrial setting, ideal for car commercials, gritty music videos, and edgy photoshoots. It’s a versatile stage that adds a touch of grit to any production.

  1. Two-Wall White Cyc: The 32′ x 16′ two-wall white cyc is a blank canvas, allowing creatives to craft their own visual stories with ease. Its flexibility and endless possibilities make it a favorite among filmmakers and photographers.

  1. Three-Wall Green Screen Stage: For those needing advanced visual effects (VFX) work, Lowtown Studios offers the only 32′ x 32′ x 32′ three-wall green screen stage in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It provides a controlled environment for creating stunning and immersive digital worlds.

But Lowtown Studios continued beyond just offering cutting-edge stages. Recognizing the importance of a seamless workflow, they invested in state-of-the-art soundproofing to ensure that external noise, such as traffic or construction, would never disrupt the creative process.

Furthermore, the facility houses essential spaces like a producer’s office, an editorial suite for post-production work, a podcast and voice-over booth, a hair and makeup suite, and a client screening room for reviewing the final cut.

In collaborating with Chris Rodriguez and Panther City Films, Lowtown Studios set out to redefine the standards of film and photography studios in the region. Their commitment to quality, versatility, and an unwavering dedication to providing a top-tier creative space has culminated in the birth of a Fort Worth gem that will influence the industry for years to come.

The journey from a visionary concept to a fully functional studio is a testament to the power of collaboration, expertise, and passion. Lowtown Studios proves that when creative minds come together, they can build spaces that inspire and foster innovation, setting the stage for extraordinary stories to be told. Fort Worth, Texas, now has a creative hub that rivals the best in the country, thanks to the dedication of Chris Rodriguez and the vision of Lowtown Studios’ founders.
